If you have vowed that this is the year you will put on your trainers and get running, entries are now being taken for the Bupa Great Yorkshire Run. You have plenty of time for training and the website has lots of advice, so you’ve no excuses for not entering.
Its the fourth year that the event has been held in Sheffield and it has become a popular addition to the City’s race calendar. Runners on the 10k course will start on in the City Centre, travel along Penistone Road to Hillsborough Stadium, and then return to the city centre finish. As most of the course is fairly flat, all runners have a great opportunity to set a personal best time.
If you are planning to run for charity then how about running for Bupa’s nominated charity for 2009, the Alzheimer’s Society, though of course you can raise money for any charity of your choice.
Postal entries will be accepted up to and inclusive of 20 August. Online entries must be received by 8am on 27 August.
There will be no "on the day" entries available.
The youngsters will have their opportunity to shine on the same day in the Junior and Mini runs on a new City Centre course. The age band races are open to children of all abilities from 3-14 years.
